BRITANNIA CARE
This is one of the busiest and most enjoyable periods at Britannia Care calendar. No sooner than the staff and residents have delighted in celebrating Diwali – the Hindu festival of light, as they do every year – then it is time to look ahead at preparing for further festivities -namely Hanaka and Christmas.
Mr Chaudhry Inayat Khan, director of Britannia Care, explained the importance of ensuring there’s always a range of activities taking place.
“Many of our residence would have been enjoying these traditions and events throughout their lives,” said Mr Khan, who started Britannia Care nearly 35 years ago, “and it’s important that we ensure that our residents can continue to mark these occasions while they are with us at Britannia Care.
“They are always joyous events, and the staff love to get involved, too.
“At Britannia Care every day is a celebration of what makes us different and what we have in common.
“It is important that we don’t forget what is taking place in and around us every day, and to mark those occasion when and whenever we can.”
Of course, both Halloween and Bonfire Night are great social occasions, with residents and staff getting involved and marking the days in traditional fashion, with spookily themed food, and of course fireworks.
The Britannia Care’s multilingual staff have a long history of providing care to the area’s multicultural community, with over 30 years of experience, knowledge and understanding in providing expert care to a diverse clientele.
Alongside the activities and the level of care provided by Britannia Care’s highly trained staff, they also pride themselves on being very approachable, ensuring that there will be a member of staff you can talk too, and can guide you through placing a loved one in Britannia’s care.
Said Mr Khan: “We train our staff to become ‘Britannia carers’, which means bespoke training and a clear career path within Britannia – from trainee to carer to senior carer to team leader, deputy manager and manager. We grow our own at Britannia care!”
