A SERIES of overnight works will begin in key parts of Bradford city centre this coming week.
The Future Bradford newsletter tells of how the Bradford City Centre Walking and Cycling Improvements Scheme is progressing.
The latest edition tells commuters about works, involving road construction and resurfacing, set to start on Friday, November 22.
All the resurfacing, except for the Magistrates Link and Channing Way works which will happen over a 24 hour period, can be done between the hours of 11pm and 5am.
Overnight works will be happening in the following areas:
- Bridge Street/Hall Ings Junction - Over two nights from Saturday, November 23 to Sunday, November 24.
- Norfolk Gardens - Over two nights from Saturday, November 23 to Sunday, November 24.
- Magistrates Link - Over a continuous period from Friday, November 22 to Sunday, November 24.
- Princes Way/Sunbridge Road Junction - Over three nights from Tuesday, November 26 to Friday, November 29.
- Nelson Street - Over three nights from Tuesday, November 26 to Friday, November 29.
There will also be some overnight works on Aldermanbury, not associated to the project, which will take place on two nights on Sunday, November 17 and Sunday, November 24.
It comes as more areas of the city centre are opening up and new pedestrian routes have become available on Bridge Street and Channing Way.
Additional street furniture has also been installed on Market Street, as well as further landscaping along the street.
Resin-bound gravel has been applied to the Hall Ings cycleway, providing a smooth and durable surface for cyclists.
On Norfolk Gardens, several park areas have been completed as work in the area continues to progress.
Kerb lines for new pedestrian and cycle paths have been installed and footpaths are taking shape alongside the new landscaping and drainage.
More landscaping has also been added to the Broadway area.
