More of the structure for a new platform at Bradford Forster Square railway station has been lifted into place.

As these pictures show, the concrete blocks forming the egde of the new platform now run the entire length of the station, meaning attention can soon turn to the next phase of construction.

The work is due to be completed by May 2025 in time for the majority of Bradford’s City of Culture celebrations.

At the time of the announcement, it was claimed the platform could see around five new Bradford to London services at the station each day.

The new platform is being built between the existing platforms and the rear of Forster Square Retail Park. Heavy equipment is currently at the site, and a new stretch of rail track has already been laid.
