WORK to create a dedicated electric charging station on a busy Bradford route is well underway.

The station is being built at the junction of Cutler Heights Lane and Sticker Lane, on the former site of the Kingswood Arms pub.

The facility is being built by Fastned, an EV charging company that operates sites across Europe.

The facility will include eight rapid charging bays covered by a canopy incorporating solar glass.

Although there are numerous EV charging sites in the district, most of these are linked to business, or are located in car parks.

The Cutler Heights site is thought to be the first dedicated EV charging station in Bradford.

The eye-catching canopy is now being constructed.

Fastned told the Telegraph & Argus it was unable to give a date for the estimated completion of the project.

Work is also underway on constructing a new EV charging station, with eight charging bays, at the Shell petrol filling station on Rooley Lane.
