Decisions on a number of planning applications were made in the week beginning Monday, November 4.
On Monday, November 4, the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council determined that "the prior approval of the local planning authority IS NOT REQUIRED" for the method of demolition proposed for the former Adams Fast Food Supplies Warehouse at 27A Thorncliffe Road.
The applicant for the demolition had been Michael Stimson.
On Tuesday, November 5, the council gave notice of a decision to approve details required by 'condition 4' of the planning permission for the new Home Bargains store at Shipley Wharf Retail Park.
Condition 4 was resubmitted on behalf of TJ Morris, the family-owned business which operates hundreds of stores under the Home Bargains brand.
The submission concerned 'hard and soft landscaping' and was made on the basis of what planning and development consultancy, Quod, described as "minor design changes" to its client's proposed store at the retail park.
These changes were a result of "a clash with the BT cable and drainage running alongside the eastern elevation of the unit," which "has meant that the tree positions have been moved along slightly" - although there are no changes to the number of trees proposed.
In addition, said Quod, "the position of the green roof cycle shelter has moved further east, along the northern elevation of the unit."
The proposal has been granted of a new external air handling plant, or AHU, to support "internal clinical reconfiguration proposals" to the ground floor of Thornbury Medical Centre, on Rushton Avenue.
In granting the proposal on Monday, November 4, the council stipulated that the development must begin not later than the expiration of three years beginning with the date of the proposal grant notice.
This was in accord with the requirements of Section 91 of the Town and Country Planning Act, 1990 (as amended).
Permission was granted on Monday, November 4 to Farmers Boy, on Cemetery Road, Lidget Green, for the installation of a "circa 12.2m high flour silo on a concrete base to the front of the existing factory building."
Permission was also granted on Thursday, November 7 to The Golf House, on Brunthwaite Lane in Silsden, for the conversion of a former clubhouse and locker rooms to "two apartments."
