A MAN from Keighley convicted of multiple sexual offences against a child has been jailed for 18 years.
Kyle Byfleet, 31, denied all matters against him but was found guilty by a jury following a trial at Bradford Crown Court.
Police were made aware of his offending when the victim told a parent. The victim also made an audio recording detailing their complaints.
Byfleet, who appeared via video link from HMP Leeds, was described as “dangerous” and “capable of hurting not only children but anyone” in a statement from the victim’s mother.
The court heard that Byfleet, a man of previous good character, maintained his innocence.
Sentencing Byfleet to 17 years imprisonment plus a year on extended licence His Honour Judge Jonathan Gibson described him as “an offender of particular concern” who had caused “significant psychological harm” to his victim.
He said he was also at risk of committing further offences.
Byfleet was made the subject of an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and must register as a sex offender for life.
