A 10-year-old boy suffered serious injuries in a collision on a Bradford road.
The collision, involving a Mercedes car and a child pedestrian, took place on Undercliffe Old Road just after 8pm on Wednesday.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police are investigating after a serious road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Undercliffe Old Road, Bradford last night.
"Officers were called at 8.19pm by the ambulance to reports a 10-year-old boy had received serious injuries from the collision.
"The 10-year-old was taken to hospital with serious but not believed to be life-threatening injuries."
The driver of the Mercedes, a 21-year-old man was initially arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drugs.
He was then released without charge on that matter, but enquiries remain ongoing into the collision.
A spokesperson for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service added: "We received an emergency call at 8.16pm on Wednesday evening to report a collision between a car and child on Undercliffe Old Road, Bradford.
"A number of ambulance resources were dispatched to the scene, including two ambulances, two doctors and a critical care paramedic.
"One patient was conveyed to Leeds General Infirmary."
