POPPIES being displayed on lampposts ahead of Remembrance Day have been vandalised.
The poignant project was financed by 18 Keighley town councillors through their ward development funds, and by the events and community development committee.
Vandals have attacked and ripped down several poppies on display in Parkwood Street.
The town council is asking residents and businesses in the street, between its junctions with Thwaites Brow Road and Quarry Street, who have CCTV cameras to check footage between Sunday and yesterday (November 3/4) and share any relevant information or images with West Yorkshire Police.
Ward councillor Wendy Harrison says: "I was so upset to be contacted by constituents about the vandalism. I’ve asked for the damaged poppies to be replaced as soon as possible."
