Naveed Hussain, Nadeem Hussain, Armaan Nazir, and Asad Majeed
A £60,000 drugs operation that used a car business as a cover for payments saw four men from the Keighley area jailed for a total of more than 20 years.
Naveed Hussain, his younger brother Nadeem Hussain, Armaan Nazir, and Asad Majeed were sentenced at Bradford Crown Court on Thursday for their part in the 'Jayflake' call and drop drugs line, which delivered cocaine direct to customers between July and December 2022.
Adnan Iqbal
Another drug dealer was locked up following the latest prosecution in West Yorkshire Police’s Operation Saintpond.
Adnan Iqbal sold heroin and crack cocaine to an undercover police officer on five occasions between August 21 and October 12, 2023.
He has now been jailed for a total of 33 months.
Mohammed Ifzal
A man who sold cocaine to pay off a large drug debt was jailed for 27 months at Bradford Crown Court.
Police who raided Mohammed Ifzal’s home on September 14, 2022, found 18 grip seal bags of cocaine in his bedroom along with phones and drug paraphernalia including weighing scales.
Mohammed Zaheer
A simmering dispute between two men exploded into violence when one of them wielded an axe.
Bradford Crown Court heard how there was “bad blood” between Ionut Rad and Mohammed Zaheer, who had been next-door neighbours for six years at the time of the incident on May 13 last year, due to Zaheer’s playing of loud music.
Zaheer has now been jailed for a total of 19 months for his part in the incident as well as an offence of dangerous driving committed earlier this year.
Abu Sumel
A teacher at a mosque was jailed for more than three years after he was confronted by members of a paedophile hunter group when he turned up to meet a 14-year-old “decoy”.
Abu Sumel, who was said to have held a responsible position at the mosque, planned to meet up with the teenage schoolgirl in Shipley and even offered to pay for an Uber to take her to his home.
Bradford Crown Court heard on Thursday how Sumel, who was 23 at the time of the offending in 2021, was involved in online chat with the decoy girl for more than two months before trying to meet up with her in December 2021.
Prosecutor Alisha Kaye outlined details of the messaging which included repeated demands by Sumel for the girl to send him photographs of herself.
Kasim Khan
A drug dealer found with cocaine worth more than £3,000 in his bedroom was sentenced.
Kasim Khan was jailed for 30 months after a court heard that payments totalling £19,000 had gone through his bank account from people buying cocaine.
