IMAGES have emerged of a huge lorry fire that caused the M62 to close for six hours last night.

The motorway was shut both ways between Junction 28 in Tingley and Junction 29 near Leeds from around 11pm on Saturday.

Multiple fire service appliances were needed to bring the large blaze under control.

Pictures show several firefighters attending to the blaze.

Mass delays occurred as the stretch of motorway was closed for a good six hours - reopening at 5.36am this morning.

The westbound carriageway opened at around 2.30am as the recovery and clean-up on the eastbound continued.
