A woman who joined an unpaid carer support group as a teenager has since shot to a managerial role - and has been nominated for her second national award.
Aisha Ali, manager of the Bradford and Airedale Carer Support Service, has been nominated for a Dignity in Care award within the Great British Care Awards (GBCA).
The awards recognise workers in the care sector who prioritise the independence, choices, and privacy of the people they support.
Last year, Ms Ali and her former colleagues at Calderdale Carers Wellbeing Service won the GBCA Home Care Team trophy.
Ms Ali has since been promoted to manager by national health and social care charity Making Space, which runs both carer support services.
She now leads a team of seven who support carers across the Bradford and Airedale areas.
The GBCA awards ceremony, at which Ms Ali will find out if she has won for a second time, will take place at Leeds' Royal Armouries on Friday, November 8.
Bradford and Airedale Carers Support can offer emotional support, advice, and guidance to carers.
The service can be contacted on 07843 268 115 or via email at bradfordcarersupport@makingspace.co.uk
