A FORMER Bradford district MP has been knighted by the Princess Royal.
Sir Philip Davies, who held his Shipley seat for the Conservatives from 2005 until the general election earlier this year, was at Windsor Castle on Tuesday.
Sir Philip, whose wife is former minister Esther McVey, was knighted on the recommendation of ex-Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
Speaking about the honour to the T&A back in March, Sir Philip said: “Obviously I’m absolutely delighted. I’m somewhat flabbergasted as well, to be honest.
“It feels very surreal and I’m somewhat in shock.”
He added: “I’m just immensely grateful to everybody who has enabled it to happen.”
He was among 130 people recognised by Princess Anne.
