A new playground has opened in Strensall Green, Buttershaw, in time for half-term.
The old equipment at the site was removed in July after being deemed unsafe.
Dan Clegg, head of estate services at Incommunities, which owns and manages the playground, said: "This playground area has always been well-used by the local community.
"The previous play equipment was over 20 years old and unsafe, so it’s great that we have been able to replace it with modern, fit-for-purpose equipment that families can enjoy for many years to come."
Local councillor Angela Tait, who visited to see the new equipment, said: "It’s wonderful to see the newly installed play area in Strensall Green within the heart of Buttershaw.
"I’m sure it will be well-utilised by many children and families in the local community."
Andy Walsh, CEO of Sandale Trust Community Centre on nearby Reevy Road, said: "It’s great for the local community, and it will be very well-used."
The playground is divided into age-appropriate areas for infants and juniors and features slides, swings, and a seesaw, as well as a chain walk trail, role-play activity panels, and spring rockers.
