POLICE have confirmed a man was taken to hospital with a head injury after an incident in Bradford over the weekend.

West Yorkshire Police said officers attended City Road at around 10.30pm on Saturday after receiving reports of a "disturbance".
  
According to the force, police found a man aged in his 20s with a head injury.

He was taken to hospital.

A force spokesperson said enquiries were ongoing into the incident, which is "believed to have involved men who are known to each other".

A witness described it as a "big commotion".

They claimed to see weapons including knives, machetes and a chainsaw.

They said: "There was lots of blood and smashed glass on the floor." 

A police cordon was in place following the incident.

"At about 10.30pm on Saturday, police received reports of a disturbance in City Road, Bradford. 

"Officers attended and found a man in his 20s with a head injury.  

"He was taken to hospital for further treatment.  

"Enquiries are ongoing by Bradford District CID into the incident, which is believed to have involved men who are known to each other.
