TWO lanes are closed on a motorway this afternoon due to a vehicle fire, with reports of animals on one of the carriageways too.

The vehicle fire is on the eastbound carriageway of the M62, between junction 22 (Rishworth Moor) and junction 23 (Huddersfield).

It was first reported at 3.24pm, according to the AA.

Two lanes have been closed while this is dealt with.

There is also an alert for animals on the opposite carriageway, in a similar area.

The average speed is down to 29mph at junction 23 on the westbound carriageway, according to National Highways.
