THE family of a lifelong Bradford City fan has paid tribute to him following his sad passing.

Steve Hawley, of Thornton, died last Sunday (October 20).

Born in Manningham, Steve was raised in Saltaire before living his adult life in Thornton with wife Anne.

As a loyal season ticket holder, Steve loved supporting the Bantams up and down the country.

He was also very well known on the Northern Soul scene in Bradford and its surrounding areas.

Walking was another of Steve's passions.

He and Anne completed multiple walks for charity including Ben Nevis for Overgate Hospice, Coast to Coast for British Heart Foundation, and Skipton Canal and Morecambe Bay for Marie Curie.

His niece Amy said: "In 2022, Steve was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Firbrosis which was life-altering.

"As the condition progressed, he couldn’t do many of the things he once loved doing.

"He did continue to attend as many City matches as possible right up until a few weeks before his passing.

"The passing of Steve has a left a huge hole in the hearts of the people close to him and he will forever be remembered by the many people he was loved by."
