AN outdoor play area is set to undergo a transformation with old equipment replaced and other items refurbished.
Funding to improve Henshaw Play Area, in Yeadon has been secured after "long negotiations", according to the Yeadon City Councillors Facebook page.
The news was announced in a post on the page, which is run by the councillors who represent the Otley and Yeadon ward, Councillor Colin Campbell, Councillor Ryk Downes, and Councillor Sandy Lay - all Liberal Democrats.
It said: "Henshaw Play Area set for refurbishment.
"After long negotiations we have managed to secure £7,500 funding for the Henshaw Play Area."
The councillors outlined that some old equipment will be replaced, including the pole spinner and seesaw.
The black wetpour safer surfacing will also be refreshed.
Other items in the play area are set to be refurbished - this will include rubbing down, priming, and repainting.
Work is expected to take place over winter.
The post said: "Sadly we could not find enough money for a full replacement but the works which should happen over the winter, will replace some of the old equipment and refurbish the rest."
