Warm coats, school shoes, pyjamas, and other essential items are to be offered to the families of schoolchildren in need.
As part of its Winter Support Campaign, whose first phase has now ended, Yorkshire Children's Charity will be offering the essential goods in an effort to relieve some of the immediate struggles of families living with poverty and disability.
The charity supported 1,058 children with winter essentials and Christmas presents in 2023, delivering more than 9,000 items across Yorkshire.
More than 2,000 applications have already been received for 2024.
The first phase of the campaign has finished, and the charity is fulfilling the current applications.
A second intake will open in January 2025.
Schools can learn more about how to get involved, and how to put families forward for the intake, by emailing wintersupport@yorkshirechildrenscharity.org.
One benefiting parent said of the campaign: "The difference has been absolutely massive, I cannot tell you."
People can still support by making donations to Yorkshire Children’s Charity’s ‘Light A Star’ initiative.
Each 'star' gifted will help a child in the form of a warm coat, winter shoes, a Christmas present, or other item.
