POLICE are conducting searches this morning within the cordon set up as part of a Bradford murder investigation.

Officers could be seen searching through bins in Barlow Street, Barkerend, lifting out rubbish from inside and sifting through it.

They were also using search poles to examine gardens outside terraced houses.

It comes after 23-year-old Luqman Ashfaq was stabbed on Barlow Street, Bradford. 

Police were called at 22.29pm on Monday by the ambulance service to reports a man was unconscious with stab wounds.

A number of scenes were put in place including Back Heath Terrace, Upper Rushton Road, Barlow Street, Barkerend Road, Harewood Street and Gladstone Street.  

The investigation work currently shows no sign of ending, with a large police presence remaining in the area.

One onlooker said it was one of the largest cordons he had seen in Bradford, with multiple focal points for investigation work.

Another man had been told police could be there for days.
