A TEENAGE boy has been charged after a major bus fire in Bradford city centre last year.
The blaze, which happened on October 9, 2023, saw flames and plumes of smoke coming from the top deck of a First bus on Broadway.
Firefighters rushed to the incident, which happened shortly after 3pm.
There were no passengers on board and no injuries were reported.
Yorkshire Police has now confirmed to the Telegraph & Argus that a 16-year-old boy has been charged with arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered.
WestThe boy, who cannot be named because of his age, is due to appear at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court on November 18.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "A 16-year-old male has been charged with arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered after a fire on a bus on Broadway in Bradford on October 9, 2023.
"The 16-year-old, who we can't name for legal reasons, has been bailed to appear at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court on November 18."
