He said: "It happened outside my house.

"There were 10 to 15 people. It was a big gang. They rammed his car, beat him up and one person stabbed him.

"It's very worrying and it's a shock to everybody.

"I can't get into my house through the front door because the police won't let me on the street. I have to us the back door."

A number of residents from the area have responded in shock at the death of a young man, with others describing hearing a commotion.

One resident said: "I heard screaming last night about two or three in the morning.

"I thought it was just normal because there's always something going on around here."

Meanwhile, a shop owner said: "I heard screaming and shouting. It sounded like a fight.

"I didn't see anything either, but my shop which is next to the post office, is closed this morning because it's in the cordon."
