A BRADFORD food and drink business has been granted planning permission to open a branch on a prominent city site.
Berries Bagels and Shakes will open on the former Enterprise Rent a Car site on Manchester Road – which has been vacant since the car business relocated further up the busy road.
The site was also once known as the Adelaide Petrol Filling Station and has 14 on-site parking spaces.
A planning application for the works has recently been approved by Bradford Council.
Berries currently has branches on Killinghall Road and Great Horton Road, and the application said the new site will help the growing business further expand.
The business will open from 8am to midnight Monday to Saturday and 8am to 11pm on Sundays.
Approving the development, planning officers said: “The proposed use will enable the expansion of 'berries' an existing business within Bradford who specialise in bagels, smoothies, juices, protein shakes, ice cream and other desserts.
“The proposed change of use is deemed to be acceptable for this site. The proposal is not considered to be harmful to visual amenity, residential amenity or highway safety.”
