POLICE have provided an update after a shooting incident in Bradford.

West Yorkshire Police was called to reports that shots were fired from a vehicle towards a house in Smith Avenue, Wibsey at 12.11pm on October 12.

Damage was caused to a door and window of the property.

A spokesperson for the force confirmed nobody was injured.

Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident.

A 21-year-old man arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life was bailed pending further enquiries.

A second man, aged 22, was arrested on suspicion of the same offence.

In an update today, police said he has also been bailed pending further enquiries.

Patrols were stepped up in the area last week to "provide reassurance" and those in the house were being safeguarded, according to Detective Inspector Suzanne Hall from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team (HMET).

She said: “We understand that any use of firearms will cause concern in the wider community.

“It cannot be understated how seriously we treat incidents of this nature and specialist officers from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team are conducting extensive enquiries.

"We are working with our neighbourhood policing colleagues and patrols will be stepped up to provide reassurance."

West Yorkshire Police's HMET are continuing to investigate.
