A BRADFORD woman has written his book and is hoping to “inspire younger people into pursuing careers they love”.
Komal Akhtar, of Bradford, has written her first book called The Willow Tree.
The book is available for purchase on Amazon, and according to a book overview on the site the story centres around two main characters called Talia and Kalei.
The story overview says: “In the town of Naghaar, the Pariahs and Naghaaris have been at war since before they could remember all because of a brutal system that was created where women are cast out from society if they are not compliant, healthy or fertile and sent to the Pariah zone.”
Ms Akhtar said: “This is just the start of my writing journey and I hope to write many more books. I’m currently in the process of writing a new one.
“By having written a book, I hope to inspire younger people into pursuing careers they love, especially coming from a Pakistani background, such authors need to be made aware of so the youngsters of Bradford have someone or something to inspire them.”
“As my favourite author, Jane Austen, once said: ‘It isn’t what we say or think that defines us, but what we do’.”
