EMERGENCY services were scrambled to a Bradford district river this lunchtime.

Police, fire, and ambulance were called to reports for a concern for safety at Bradford Amateur Rowing Club on the River Aire.

A person was rescued from the river, West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue has confirmed.

They were checked over by ambulance staff and left the scene uninjured.

When the Telegraph & Argus visited the scene, firefighters and paramedics could be seen on Higher Coach Road in Baildon.

West Yorkshire Police say the issue has now been resolved and no injuries have been reported.

One passer-by said: "There is a large emergency presence  (10+ vehicles) at Bradford Rowing Club."

A spokesperson for the West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "We were called today at 11.37am to Bradford Amateur Rowing Club to reports of a person in the water.

"Five crews attended (Bingley, Shipley, Rastrick, Leeds and Rawdon).

"A person was rescued from the river and left in the care of Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

"They were checked over by ambulance staff and left the scene uninjured.

"Crews left the scene around 12:45pm."
