AN update has been issued after a burst water main caused major disruption at the Chain Bar roundabout.
The incident was first reported just after 2.30pm on Wednesday afternoon.
Yorkshire Water said the burst, on a large diameter main, caused surface water flooding and dramatic drone images showed the scale of the issue.
Lane closures were put in place and these will remain in place until this evening, Yorkshire Water said in an update this afternoon.
A spokesperson said: "The lane closure on the roundabout and the closure of one lane of the westbound M62 slip road will remain in place until approximately 8pm this evening at which point all lanes will be reopened to minimise disruption over the weekend and into next week."
They added: "The lane closure on the westbound M62 sliproad and the roundabout will need to be re-enacted in the early hours of Wednesday morning to allow the repair of the burst water main, which is currently isolated, to begin.
"This is due to the scale of the repair required and the need to ensure this is done safely."
