A BRADFORD district pub is appealing for funds to help it through the coming months amid pressures including the rising cost of energy.
Hullabaloo, based at Westgate in Shipley, is a registered Community Benefit Society trading as a pub/diner.
Mike Connors, chair of Shipley Town Council, is one of seven people who run the pub.
Speaking to the Telegraph & Argus, Mr Connors said: "We are part of an industry that is under severe cost pressure and a reduction of footfall.
He added: "Shipley is no different to Bingley or Baildon or anywhere else.
"There is potential for a vibrant nighttime economy in Shipley but the cost of living crisis and the cost of running hospitality are just stretched at the moment."
Mr Connors thanked customers for donating more than £1,000 via a Crowdfunder so far.
"Energy costs have taken businesses under," he said.
"We have quite a high energy bill because we have quite an old building which is inefficient and that is the challenge we are facing up to."
Mr Connors remains hopeful for the future of Hullabaloo.
"We are just asking our customers for a bit of short-term funding to get us through this little phase of autumn and winter," he said.
"Then we kick on in January, that is the idea."
He added: "We do believe Hullabaloo is a popular place and it will get through this short-term period and thrive in the future."
The Crowdfunder page says: "Hullabaloo needs your help to raise funds and ensure it continues to operate in the coming months.
"Trading conditions in recent months have been difficult; we are suffering the same pressures that has seen a number of local pubs close for good.
"With the continuing rising cost of energy, food and drink supplies plus a cost of living crisis that means customers are spending less - we are appealing to you to help us overcome these short-term difficulties and ensure that we can continue with plans to create a lively space in Shipley for music and arts events."
Several supportive comments have been left on the Crowdfunder.
"Best wishes to everyone working to establish Hullabaloo as a community pub," said one person.
"Best wishes for this fundraising drive. I hope you reach the target very soon," said another.
One supporter said they'd been a few times, had a great night and described the food as "amazing".
