A POPULAR Bradford restaurant has tasted success again in a prestigious national awards ceremony.

International was chosen as one of the country's top 10 curry houses in the Editor's Choice Category at this year's Curry Life Awards.

The flagship eatery, which opened on Sticker Lane in December 2022, is the sister restaurant to the long-established International in Morley Street in the city centre.

In last year's Curry Life Awards, International was named Best Restaurant

Speaking after the latest ceremony, International owner Safeer Khan said: "This is the second year that International was in the running for an award and we are thrilled to have won again.

"There is no better recognition than winning an award - it's very exciting for us and it shows how positive our customer feedback has been."

He added: "Our restaurant is a great place for diners when they want to host a special celebration.

"Our expectations have been completely exceeded since we opened."

Meanwhile, Ashiana Takeaway - which opened on Wells Road in Ilkely in 2023 - was awarded the coveted accolade of Best Takeaway of the Year at the Curry Life Awards.

Owner and manager Forhad Miah said: "It was a very surreal moment.

"Although we are relatively new to Ilkley we have made some amazing customers and friends, and without their support this wouldn't have been possible.

"I'd also like to thank our amazing chefs who have spent many hours in the kitchen preparing food to the highest standards.

"Without them, we wouldn't have won."

This year's Curry Life Awards ceremony was held in London on Sunday.

Speaking after the event, Curry Life Media Group Editor, Syed Belal Ahmed, said: "A major aim of the awards has always been to highlight best practice going on across the country - so that everyone has the opportunity to learn from the best - something that has always been a driving principle behind Curry Life itself.

"Over the many years we have been staging the awards, we have seen major improvements in standards and quality being offered to customers."
