A FATHER has spoken of his shock after his son was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Bradford.

West Yorkshire Police are investigating a collision between a vehicle and pedestrian on Cemetery Road, in the Four Lane Ends area, last week.

20-year-old Ahad Ali sustained a fractured skull and broken collarbone following the incident on Wednesday, October 9.

Emergency services were scrambled to the scene just after 9pm.

Enquiries remain ongoing by the Roads Policing Unit, according to a West Yorkshire Police spokesperson.

'It was touch and go'

"It was very dramatic," Ahad's dad Mohammad Ali said.

"We thought he had a bleed on the brain and at one point it was touch and go.

"The bleeding stopped so no operation was needed. He sustained a fracture to the skull."

Mr Ali said his son had gone to a shop on Cemetery Road when the incident happened.

"A passer-by found my son's phone and dialled the first contact which was his best friend," he said.

"A woman from the Red Lion Pub then came out."

A customer from the pub said: "When I got there, a few people had come out. I asked if someone had rung an ambulance.

"I told people not to move him because we just didn't know how injured he was.

"It was all rather traumatic."
