A NUMBER of auctions that would have seen Council owned properties go under the hammer have been postponed a month.

The former Rhodesway Swimming Pool, Valley View House care home and the old Cullingworth Village Hall were due to be among the lots at an online property auction by Pugh that begins today (Tuesday).

Ten Bradford Council run assets were listed in the auction, but they have been moved to a November 6 auction.

The Telegraph & Argus has asked Bradford Council why the auctions were postponed, but has yet to receive a response.

Last month two Council properties sold at auction for above their guide prices.

Bradford Council is planning to sell over 150 assets in a bid to reduce its huge budget shortfall.
