POLICE have been sending letters about the anti-social use of fireworks to schools across the Bradford district.
With Bonfire Night soon approaching, the force is keen to raise awareness about the dangers of the explosives.
Letters will also be sent to areas where the anti-social use of fireworks has been typically seen during this period.
Bonfire period warning
Inspector Osman Khan of Bradford’s Stronger Communities and Partnerships Team said: “The bonfire period is typically a busy time for the emergency services, so it’s great to see proactive work to protect the community is being carried out.
“We have been working with the community to raise awareness of the dangers of fireworks but also the laws around them.
“Letters have been sent out across schools in Bradford district and in areas where we typically have seen the anti-social use of fireworks.
“We will continue to work in partnership with other emergency services and the local authority to make sure that this bonfire season passes off safely.”
