A MAN suffered serious injuries in an alleged machete attack.
Police said the incident occurred at the victim's home on Low Cliff Walk in Heckmondwike in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The 40-year-old man's injuries were serious but not life-threatening, said West Yorkshire Police.
A 28-year-old man who was arrested has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "At 1.06am on Saturday, October 12 officers were called to Low Cliff Walk, Heckmondwike to reports a man had been seriously assaulted in his home.
They added: "A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
"He’s since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
"Enquiries are ongoing by Kirklees CID."
