A HUGE pile of rubbish was left at a bus stop on a major Bradford road due to a vehicle fire, it has been confirmed.
The waste was left on Rooley Lane and was surrounded by red cones, which were blocking it off.
The mound included cardboard boxes, plastic bags and bottles, crisp packets, and more, but had been cleared away by Thursday afternoon.
The rubbish had to be deposited for safety reasons, waste management company Biffa told the Telegraph & Argus.
A spokesperson for Biffa said: “We can confirm as a result of a fire in one of our vehicles yesterday, waste had to be deposited due to safety reasons.
"This has now been cleared and we’d like to thank West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and the local council for their support.”
A Bradford Council spokesperson added: “We were made aware of the waste pile on Rooley Lane.
"This was carried out for safety reasons by a waste service provider, upon the advice of the fire services.
“We worked closely with the waste provider to ensure the clean-up was carried out promptly and all waste has now been removed.”
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted for a comment.
