OFFICERS from West Yorkshire Police's Steerside Enforcement Team have been out and about again cracking down on crimes on our roads.

The team said yesterday it stopped a car on Saltburn Road, Bradford, as the driver was spotted using their mobile phone.

A spokesperson from the team said: "It turns out their licence had previously been revoked until a further test passed.

"The vehicle was seized."

They added that the driver had a "long taxi ride home" to the Lancashire area.

Meanwhile, the team also said yesterday it stopped the rider of a bike on Morley Street, Bradford.

The team spokesperson added: "The rider was found to have a provisional licence, no CBT (compulsory basic training) and no insurance."

Suspected cannabis was also found.

He was arrested on suspicion of drugs and public order offences.

West Yorkshire Police's Steerside Enforcement Team operates across the Bradford district, deploying officers seven days a week in cars and on bikes.
