POLICE have found a body in the search for a missing 15-year-old from Bradford.
West Yorkshire Police said yesterday evening that officers had found a body in Chellow Dene Reservoir in the search for Zakir Muhammad Mughal just before 6pm on Thursday.
A spokesperson for the force said: "Although formal identification is yet to take place, the body is believed to be that of Zakir and his family have been informed.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time."
Muslim bereavement service, Janaza Announcements, announced the sad news at 7.21pm yesterday but police have now officially confirmed it.
Janaza told the Telegraph & Argus earlier on Thursday evening that Zakir's family will be at Victor Street Mosque, in Manningham, for condolences up until the day of the funeral, with details of this still to be confirmed.
Police had been searching for Zakir since Tuesday night when he was reported missing.
Further information suggested the last confirmed sighting of himwas in the Chellow Dene area at around midnight, between Tuesday and Wednesday.
The force launched an appeal for the public's help to find Zakir on Wednesday.
West Yorkshire Police confirmed in the early afternoon yesterday that searches for the 15-year-old were underway at Chellow Dene Reservoir, after Bradford Council said at 2.39pm that the car park, footpaths, and grounds of the area were shut to the public due to police activity.
