WHEN looking for a nice bite to eat in Bradford city centre, The Broadway’s food court is a convenient choice, along with the various fantastic cafes scattered across the area.
But for something a bit more filling, Pizza Pieces on Market Street hits just the spot.
The restaurant has been in Bradford for over 30 years.
Me and my mother, like many last week, were seeking some tea before watching the brilliant Only Fools and Horses Musical at the Alhambra.
Having visited the Italian a few times over the years, I suggested the eatery for a pre-theatre meal.
It proved to be a wise choice, as both of us enjoyed the food and the friendly atmosphere.
The pizzeria has been a part of Bradford's fabric for over 30 years and is family-run by Napoli-born owner Antonio Barbiero, who came across to England at the young age of 16.
The décor very much reflects this, with the walls draped with Italian flags and art.
That traditional feel is also present in the customer service.
Staff were super knowledgeable when chatting about the restaurant's background.
After waiting a fair few minutes in the queue, I ordered two £5.95 pizza deals.
These came with a rather large slice, a portion of fries, and a can of Coca-Cola Zero.
Spicy Chicken was my favoured option from the appetizing front counter.
All those pizzas - including cheese and tomato, vegetarian, and pepperoni - looked tantalisingly tasty.
A very short wait followed before our piping-hot food landed on the table.
The large slice - featuring the perfect blend of meat, onions, peppers, and cheese - definitely satisfied my tastebuds and was complemented well by the portion of fries, which could have, ideally, been slightly bigger.
Overall though, it was certainly a value-for-money deal.
I could not leave without trying some Tiramisu for dessert.
What a great choice that was!
I grabbed the tray serving from a spinning display cabinet and got a superb portion for the reasonable price of £3.50.
Ultimately it was the perfect place to attend before an amazing performance across the way.
