A RESERVOIR in Bradford has been closed as police search for a missing 15-year-old.

Bradford Council said at 2.39pm today that Chellow Dene reservoir is shut to the public due to "police activity in the area".

This includes the car park, footpaths, and grounds around the reservoir.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed searches are ongoing in the area in relation to its investigation to find Zakir Muhammad Mughal, who is missing from Bradford.

Zakir was reported missing on Tuesday night but further information suggested the last confirmed sighting of him was in the Chellow Dene area at around midnight, between Tuesday and Wednesday.

He is described as an Asian male, who is around 5ft tall, of skinny build, with dark brown hair.

He was wearing a black tracksuit and a North Face jacket when he was last seen.

Officers have urged Zakir to contact his family or police himself to "confirm that he is safe and well", and have asked the public for help with their search.
