A MAN had to be rescued from a car on an extrication board after hitting a tree and flipping over.

Emergency services were called to a report of an overturned vehicle on Keighley Road, near Ogden Reservoir at 9.40pm last Friday night.

Footage seen by the Telegraph & Argus showed a black vehicle in the middle of the road, propped up by its front end, with the rear lifted into the air.

There was debris littered across the road.

A statement from West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service (WYFRS) yesterday shed new light on the collision.

A spokesperson for WYFRS said it was called at 9.43pm on the Friday to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a tree.

Three crews were sent to the scene, including the technical rescue team from Cleckheaton Fire Station.

The other firefighters came from Illingworth and Fairweather Green.

The WYFRS spokesperson said: "One person was placed on an extrication board inside the vehicle and brought out to ambulance crews."

Yorkshire Ambulance Service was called to the scene at 9.48pm and sent an ambulance and rapid response vehicle.

The driver of the car, a man, was rushed to Bradford Royal Infirmary.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said his injuries "are not thought to be life-threatening".

The road was closed while emergency services attended the scene.

It was reopened by 11.28pm that night.
