A BRADFORD artist is to release her debut album later this week.
Maya Krishan (MXY) will release the 'Mind Body & Soul' this coming Friday.
The album depicts Maya's journey in the last few years after making a comeback to music.
She has previous spoken to the Telegraph & Argus about battling severe mental health issues in her mid-twenties.
Maya told the T&A: "I went into the deepest darkest breakdown you could ever imagine for over five years of my life, unable to do music due to such a debilitating illness that had exploded inside of me.
"It was like all the life was being sucked out of me in one go and I got to the point where I wanted to end my life.”
Thankfully, with help from the NHS, the former youth worker was able to get back to doing what she does best.
In 2021, MXY released her first track in half a decade - ‘Mind Body & Soul’.
Two years later, more came including single `Tender Lovin Care' and the "Feel The Fire'' EP - paving the way for her new album 'Mind Body & Soul'.
