A CHARITY has opened its third store in and around Bradford city centre.

British Heart Foundation (BHF) has added to its Westgate and Kirkgate offering by installing a fashion and furniture shop in the former JYSK unit at Manningham Retail Park.

BHF say its team of staff and volunteers have curated a stylish selection of items to entice shoppers inside.

Hannah Smith, a postgraduate researcher at the nearby University of Leeds, officially opened the store earlier this week.

Hannah’s BHF-funded research investigates the role fatty acid has in the skeletal muscle of patients with diabetic heart failure.

"It’s a huge shop filled with preloved gems so pop down and see what you can find.

"Every item sold will fund research like mine to help those with heart and circulatory diseases.”

"With a large car park making it easy for people to drop by and browse what we have on offer, the team are looking forward to welcoming familiar faces and showing those who are new to shopping preloved, what a great retail experience this is.

“We’re an incredibly friendly bunch so please do pop in and say hello.

"While we find our feet in the new store, we would be hugely grateful for any quality donations or people wanting to volunteer with us.

"If you have a spare hour or two or items you’re looking to donate, the team would love to hear from you.”

Manningham Retail Park has seen some major changes in recent years.

It was once home to Toys R Us and Babies R Us before they shut in 2018 after the company announced it was closing down all its stores.

It left JD Gyms as the only business based at the retail park.

But Food Warehouse, a chain owned by retailer Iceland, opened months later, followed by JYSK the next year.
