RESIDENTS are being urged to pledge their support to the Vision Zero initiative.
Vision Zero aims to eliminate all deaths and serious injuries on West Yorkshire's roads by 2040.
Individuals and organisations can tick a box saying "I pledge to do what I can to eliminate all road deaths and serious injuries by 2040" at www.westyorks-ca.gov.uk/vz-pledge
They are also invited to fill in a box saying what they will do to help make Vision Zero a reality.
Their pledge can be dedicated in someone's memory.
A Vision Zero spokesperson said: "We believe that no death or serious injury is acceptable on our roads, and we are working in partnership to reduce road danger in our region with the aim of zero deaths and serious injuries by 2040.
"We all have an important part to play in making Vision Zero a reality."
Alison Lowe, chair of the West Yorkshire Vision Zero Board and Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime, said: "I am committed to ensuring we end the scourge of road death for all our communities across West Yorkshire.
"The impact of death or serious injury is immediate, but the pain and devastation for families and the wider community can last for decades."
