POLICE have been conducting high-visibility patrols in part of Bradford city centre's west end amid concern over criminality.
Officers took action after concerns were raised about drug dealing and vagrancy on Morley Street and surrunding areas.
In an update, officers said a number of drug dealers had been arrested recently and several traffic light beggars were now facing court action.
In an update on 'neighbourhood priorities', officers in Bradford West listed the actions being taken to tackle the problem;
- High-visibility patrols conducted regularly to deter criminality
- Recent arrests of known drug dealers who are currently awaiting court appearances
- Persistent beggars at traffic lights have been summoned to court
- Criminal Behaviour Order proceedings taking place to prevent further offending
- Proactive patrols will continue in the area and offenders dealt with positively
