THE owner of a restaurant that is up for sale has declared “we’re not going anywhere anytime soon”.

It emerged two weeks ago through commercial property agent Intelligent that Nduja, in Bingley Road, Saltaire had been put on the market.

But one of the restaurant’s co-owners, Jordan Franz, explained it has been on sale for six months, which was the plan when first buying it and wants to put to bed any idea Nduja is closing.

He said: “We’re not going anywhere anytime soon unless we get a great offer.”

“We’re on the market but we’re not going anywhere unless we’re made a good offer.

“I was always going to put it up for sale, since day one.

“That’s what we did but we have no intention of going anywhere.”

Jordan said: “When I first bought La Rue, in my head, I was buying it to put it up for sale anyway, it just took two months to put it on the market.”

He added: “It doesn’t mean anyone is going to buy it, we might be there for another three years.

“We signed a seven-year lease, but you don’t know what happens, anything can happen.”

Jordan primarily works at his other business on the same street, The Pepper Mill, while fellow co-owner, Sam Longthorn, works as a chef at Nduja every day.

They have also hired a new general manager Filip, who has experience in high-end restaurants in the capital.

Jordan said: “He’s come from London, he has eight years’ experience running restaurants and bars in London, most recently he worked at Fanny’s.”

He added: “He’s come up, he’s there full time, it’s bolstered the front end of staff getting him in.”

Nduja is also launching a delivery service soon, offering its pizza, pasta, and other dishes to those who want it as a takeaway.

He added: “No one delivers them, we want to offer pizzas because they’re some of the best around here.”

The changes are a chance for a refresh for Nduja, according to Jordan.
