A BRADFORD musician has told of his excitement for 2025 UK City of Culture as he prepares to host an uplifting event.

Mike Brooks, known by his stage name Bontempi Love Organ, is an electronic music artist with more than 30 years' experience.

His work blends elements of electro, acid funk and industrial music.

Passionate about his city, Mike aims to use his music to inspire positive change in Bradford.

Ahead of Bradford's designation as UK City of Culture 2025, he will host a free event at Exchange Craft Beer House on Market Street, Bradford, between 8pm and 11pm on October 31.

It will feature an "eclectic" live performance from Mike and sets by local DJs, aiming to give music lovers the opportunity to connect with one another.

The event will lay the groundwork for a larger project called Bontempi Love Organ Presents, slated for the City of Culture celebrations in 2025.

Mike said: "Bradford has so much untapped potential - and it's time for us as a community to showcase the positive aspects of our city.

"With City of Culture year approaching, we need to generate stories that highlight why Bradford is a place worth visiting and celebrating."

Mike extended an open invitation to anyone aged over 18 in Bradford and beyond to join the event.

"Whether you're an electronic music enthusiast, an aspiring artist or someone who simply wants to support positive initiatives in the city, your presence is welcomed," he added.

Bontempi Love Organ Presents intends to provide a platform for electronic music talent and DJs in Bradford to step out of their bedrooms and perform in front of live audiences next year.

"'Presents' will be all about the love of electronic music," Mike's collaborator Julian Gratton said.

"We want to give artists, regardless of age or background, the opportunity to share their passion and contribute to Bradford's cultural renaissance."

Both Mike and Julian said: "Yes, Bradford has its issues, but we also have incredible talent and a strong community spirit.

"It's time we channel that energy into positive actions which not only benefit us locally but also put Bradford on the map for all the right reasons.

"Let's show everyone what Bradford is truly about.

"By coming together, we can create memorable experiences and set the stage for an incredible City of Culture year."
