MCDONALD'S is set to open in a former restaurant between Ilkley and Burley-in-Wharfedale tomorrow.

The new McDonald's branch is opening at the former Kashmiri Aroma restaurant on Coutances Way, next to the A65.

The first customers will be served from October 2 - bringing the fast food chain’s burgers, wraps, sweet treats, and drinks to another part of the district.

Kashmiri Aroma - which opened in 2008 - closed its doors in May 2023.

It came as the restaurant owners acquired a new site on Northgate in Baildon.

News of McDonalds’ move into the site attracted more than 600 objections during the planning stage.

The global takeaway giant was granted permission to make changes to the building that would allow it to open the new branch last November.

The branch is expected to create 42 full-time and 18 part-time jobs.
