Bradford’s Diwali Awards are set to be even bigger and better than last year, organisers say.
The night celebrates unsung heroes who embody the spirit of Bradford’s Hindu community in their lives.
From cricket coaches and police officers to language teachers and youth workers, the awards are a way to honour people improving lives in their own way.
For 2024, the grand ceremony is set to take place at Cedar Court Hotel on Friday, October 18.
The event, popular with people of all backgrounds and ethnicities, is almost sold out.
Deepak Sharma, trustee of the Bradford Hindu Council and one of the key organisers of the event, said: "This year we are set to deliver an even more exciting and memorable experience, filled with joy, recognition, and community spirit. We look forward to welcoming everyone to an unforgettable evening of celebration."
Nominations have now closed - meaning the Hindu Council’s Diwali Awards team is now whittling down the winners.
Ravinder Dharni, chairperson of the Hindu Council, said: "This year’s event will not only honour those achievements but also bring our community together in a bigger and more vibrant setting. We are excited to see new faces and celebrate the champions who continue to shape our community with their tireless work."
