Firefighters have been reunited with a five week old kitten that they rescued from a car engine.
Ota, believed to be part of a stray litter in the area, had crawled into the engine for warmth before he became trapped.
He was driven around West Yorkshire - leaving him with two broken legs.
The kitten’s life was saved by several specialist fire and rescue officers who spent more than an hour stripping part of the car.
The kitten received emergency care from Bradford Cat Watch Rescue and Sanctuary later that evening and is now recovering.
The cat rescue’s founder, Katie Lloyd, took Ota to Bradford Fire Station to meet his heroes once again.
Katie, a former pediatrician who has spent years helping animals in need, said: “Ota went to say thank you to to the officers at Bradford Fire Station ( White Watch) last night who saved his life and took them some yummy treats too.”
Stray cats and kittens may climb into bonnets and car engines during cold weather in search of warmth.
To make sure cats can escape before you set off and potentially injure them, bang on your bonnet three times to spook them out.
