THERE has been an outpouring of love for a “beautiful amazing husband” who died in a crash.

Rugby coach Mark Fleming has been named by police as the 51-year-old who died after a crash involving his black motorcycle and a silver Kia Rio.

The collision happened on Whitehall Road, near its junction with New Lane, in Drighlington just after 9am on Saturday.

Mark, a father of three to Connor, Scarlett, and Ruby and husband to Jenny, sadly died at the scene.

He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

A road closure was put in place while investigation works were carried out.

Mark was heavily involved with Drighlington ARLFC, coaching some of the young girls’ teams at the rugby club.

A heartfelt tribute left at the scene by his wife, Jenny, said: “To my only love, my beautiful amazing husband.

“Words will never be enough for how much you mean to me.

“I will always love you and make you proud raising our 3 beautiful children.

“Till we meet again, remember I love you always and will carry you with me .”

There have been floods of tributes paid to Mark online as well, with many thanking him for the contribution he made to young players and the community.

Drighlington ARLFC said in a post yesterday evening: “We are devastated to share the tragic news that our beloved friend, Mark Fleming, passed away unexpectedly yesterday.

“A loving husband to Jenny and a wonderful father to Connor, Scarlett, and Ruby.

“Mark was a coach here at DrigRugby and a friend to so many.

“The family kindly ask that everyone respects their privacy to grieve at this sad time.

“Our thoughts go out to Mark’s family, friends and loved ones.”

It said: “Without you, I wouldn’t be the rugby player I am today."

The same tribute had another message from Dave and Caroline.

It said: “Taken from us way too soon, the Drighlington fam have lost a great guy, dad, and mate.

“Thank you for those cold, dark nights putting your time into our U11s and making players, our girls, into the people they are today.

“Thoughts with you Jen and the family.”

There was a joint tribute from Drighlington Girls U11s at the scene, which said: “Mark, one of the best coaches”.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Mark’s family have asked their privacy is respected to allow them to grieve at what is clearly a desperately sad time."

Officers are continuing to investigate the crash and are appealing for witnesses.
