A BRADFORD district man has been jailed for several offences including begging and shoplifting.

John Moseley, of Valley Road in Shipley, was arrested on Friday.

He was later charged with begging, two breaches of criminal behaviour orders, possession of class B drugs and shoplifting.

Moseley appeared at Bradford Magistrates Court on Saturday morning where he pleaded guilty.

He was sentenced to 34 weeks in custody and issued with a fine.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Shipley NPT are committed to tackling begging and shoplifting in the town centre.

"We are aware of the negative impact begging and shoplifting has on local businesses and the community."
