A BRADFORD district pub has been listed in a prestigious beer guide for the first time.
The Myrtle Grove, on Main Street, Bingley, is included in the Campaign for Real Ale's (CAMRA) Good Beer Guide 2025, the UK’s best-selling beer and pub guide, which was published on Thursday.
Bradford CAMRA branch members chose the Wetherspoon pub following regular visits to check on the quality of the real ales on offer.
They also took into account customer service, décor, and overall atmosphere.
It is the first time The Myrtle Grove has been included in the guide.
A CAMRA spokesman said: “The Myrtle Grove deserves its place in the Good Beer Guide 2025.
“It is our belief that if a licensee serves an excellent pint of real ale, then everything else in the pub, including customer service, quality of food and atmosphere, are likely to be of an equally high standard.”
The pub’s manager, Odhran Feeney, said: “We are delighted that The Myrtle Grove has been recognised for the quality of its real ales by CAMRA members.
“We offer our customers an excellent range of real ales at all times, including those from regional brewers and microbrewers, as well as hosting our own beer festivals.
“Staff at the pub work hard to ensure that the real ales on offer are kept in first-class condition at all times and the pub’s inclusion in the guide highlights this.”
Assistant manager Mackenzie Slinger, who looks after the pub's ales, said: "We're over the moon that we're finally in it. We've always tried our hardest to get in there. It's a big achievement for us.
"We sell over 2,000 pints of ale a week, which is very good for a small pub.
"We just connect with our customers by building a relationship with them and CAMRA members, who come in quite regularly now.
"We always have 10 ales on at a time, but everyone has a different palate so any ales our customers want we try to get for them. We also like to try new breweries."
"We find out what they like," added Mackenzie, who noted that one of the customers' favourite beers is Wobbly Bob, a 6.0 deep amber made by Phoenix Brewery.
"They might get wobbly after they've had a few, but we sell over 100 gallons a week of it.
"When our customers say that our ales are good it just reaffirms that we're doing something right."
